This week I am so happy, partly as my first book βThe Rocking Chair Test, a step by step guide to becoming #futureyou was published, partly because of the quality of work I am delivering at the moment and partly because I have spent some quality time with some of the eagles in my life.
Before I talk about the eagles, let me talk about 2 pieces of content I delivered. My work is simple, practical, actionable, clear and experience based. My slides reflect this as you can see:
I was invited to deliver a dayβs workshop for the Australian Psychological Society which I thought would be a great test of my content, given I come from a position of experience and simplicity. I believe this matters to provide clarity and also credibility. I want people to take action as a result of new learning or else what is the point? Much to my delight the team loved the day and found great value in my approach. I am sure there is a collaboration ahead to bring some science and research to validate, extend or even challenge what I do. Super happy and a big tick in the box. β
Secondly, I was asked by my wife Leona to record a session on Achieving Your Goals for an international audience spread across Australia, NZ, UK, USA and Canada. This is always high pressure as I absolutely want to deliver amazing content AND make my wife proud of what I do. I am delighted to say it was another huge tick β
πIf you want a link to this session, please message me and I will send it to you. It is a goal visualisation exercise with some practical questions to support. It can translate to any aspect of life or sector of work.
Both groups are actually full of eagles too!!
I am a highly motivated self-starter, passionate about all I do and the difference it makes. I live with gratitude and optimism and see the opportunity in (almost) everything. However, I still need my eagles. These are the people who believe in me. People who do stretch and challenge me. People who listen to add value and insight. People who in essence are the wind beneath my wings. They want to soar to new heights and they want me to join them. They encourage me to #dare2soar!
πMy questions to you are simple:
πWho are the eagles in your life? π¦
πHow much time do you spend with them?π¦
πHow could you spend more? π¦
πHow can you be the eagle π¦ in other peopleβs lives?
Whenever I carve out the time, I feel amazing and everything else, including the quality and impact of my work, is better.
Thanks to Jackie Ng, Alan Chapman and Manny Martinez for doing just that! βοΈπ¦ βοΈ
