Debrief: What did you love? What did you learn?
Prepare (better than anyone) - Do - Reflect (How do you take good stuff + make it better) - Extract (L/C+10%) - Apply (Intentional Personal Growth)
Recruit amazingly well. Know what you and what they are looking for. Write it out.
All is well, that starts well.Never do business alone.
John Woden story: find their spot: watch shots for a couple of weeks, circle their spot, set up plays so they get their shot away from that spot.
Woden - 1sts v 2nds. Plays 1st out of position in opening practice session and 1sts always lost. Message is to get people playing in their best positions - using their strengths in a system.
1/2 time - the coach leaves his players in the changing room with 3 flips headed: good, poorly, change. The palayers write up what is good, poor and what needs to change in 2nd 1/2. The coach comes in and makes a few comments. The point being you can't lead/coach until you find where the players (your team) are.
Q: How do I make my team better everyday. A: I make myself better everyday.
(Today matters).Every meeting needs a clear purpose: why get together just to get together?
Managers lead everyone the same, leaders lead everyone differently.
Just Today card: A simple list of your daily must do’s - simple commitments. Read it everyday for a year. Live it 'just for today.’ Weeks in, compound effect will be amazing.
Decision making over-rated, decision management under-rated.
Smart thinking over-rated, sustained thinking under-rated.
What are you doing today with the decision you made yesterday?
Process for learning by doing:
Do it yourself, do it well I do it, you are with me You do it, I am with you You do it
You do it someone is with you (this step is where the magic happens)Ducks aren't eagles! 🦅
Loving what you do makes you contagious - it draws people in.
Leadership is all ‘visual’.
Say what you want from others - 3 things. Are you those 3 things? We attract who we are, not what we want.
Average people want you to stay average.
