There is always an opportunity!

.....just ask 'Woody the Woodpecker.'

Given the holiday weekend, just a short story from me this week to highlight there is opportunity in everything, however bizarre, surprising and/or challenging!

Have you heard of Woody the Woodpecker?

Do you know how this famous cartoon character came about?

Gracie and Walter Lantz were honeymooning in a rustic wooden cabin in a beautiful forest setting. It seemed perfect………..until at dawn each morning a woodpecker started its loud pecking on their roof. It was so loud it was almost impossible to sleep!(It was their honeymoon I suppose).

So, how did they respond?

Instead of letting the bird spoil their honeymoon, through the constant noise and lack of sleep, the newly weds were inspired to create ‘Woody the Woodpecker’.

For many years Gracie was the voice behind the cartoon bird and Walter the illustrator. It made them.

When interviewed on their 50th wedding anniversary, Gracie said simply: ‘It was the best thing that ever happened to us.’

It just proves, there is opportunity in everything as long as you go looking for it!
